A stitch in time...........

I have been busily stitching away and have made the following creations.  I love to stitch once the weather becomes cooler...........bundled under a blanket, glass of wine, with my favourite shows on the tellie, stitching project in hand.............and I am in my absolute element.  I could sit for hours and hours doing it.

I promise I am going to try and get better with the amount I post on my blog.  I am very slack, I know.

Anyway, just a quickie today as I am in the middle of some spring cleaning one corner (yes, one corner) of the 'play room' as we are getting a new chaise lounge delivered tomorrow.  How exciting!  The other three corners will have to wait for another day.  Besides half of what is left of my shop resides there at the moment.  Oh well.......................it all takes time.  I will just keep telling myself that anyway!

Please enjoy my hand stitched gift bags.  Some of these will also show up on my eBay store - kindred kollections - very soon.

You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family!

I am devoting this post to my wonderful friends.  I love you guys!  You know who you are.

I will just leave the family thing alone at the moment.  (Best not to go there right now!!)

My friends are the type that love me unconditionally and I would like to think that I return that same type of love to them.  I have been having a few issues with family lately and my friends are always there to pick me up and dust me off.

Whenever I am around them, my spirits automatically just lift and the laughter just flows.  It's true what 'they' say about laughter being the best medicine.  What do we laugh about?  Anything and everything!  It just seems so natural when we get together.

I just want to share this beautiful quote that a friend gave to me and I would like to dedicate it to all my wonderful friends out there.

The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world.

There will be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honour.

But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along:

people who will appreciate our compassion, our unique talents.

Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time

to share what we had to give.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile,

a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,

all of which have a potential to consider the continuous

opportunities there are to make our love felt.

Thank you my gorgeous friends for making my life happier merely because you are in it.

Till next time, Happy scrapping.

Chaos!!!

I have had a lovely day today, just pottering around the house (looking at everything that I should be doing, and doing nothing!) and scrapbooking.

I have been trying to keep everything out of the dining room so that at least one part of my house is respectable.  So I have moved my scrapbooking into the 'Play room', which is an absolute mess, constantly.  Since I don't have my 'own' space to play any more, I found that I was gravitating towards the dining room as I could see the television from where I sat.  I like to have the telly going or the stereo on when I scrapbook so that is why I ended up there!  So.............you can imagine the mess I had everywhere.  Now, with it in the play room and also where I can see the second TV, we can just close our french doors to that part of the house to hide the chaos it holds.

Speaking of chaos.  My teenage son, Josh, is an absolute nightmare to get a decent photo of lately so I just take them when I can.  I have completed this page today showing you just what it is like trying to get one of him.  This is my good friend Cathy trying to get him to co-operate for his mother.  Thanks Cathy, but it didn't work!  I scrapped it anyway and am quite happy with the end result, albeit, completely different to my normal style.  A bit chaotic to suit the photo I guess.  Hope you like it.

Life's too short!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter and were able to get a bit of rest and relaxation.  We went to the North Coast to visit some great friends that we haven't been able to spend quality time with for ages.  What a blast!  We had so much fun, we are heading back in two and a half weeks to do it all over again.

I have been busy lately (not blogging, obviously), but creating.  I have got several things to share with you but today I will start with this page I did of my feet.  Yes, my feet!!!

We went away at Christmas for two weeks.  The first family holiday we have had for approximately 4 years.  Whilst sitting on the beach watching the kids, I thought to myself, 'I need to take the time, more often, to feel the sand between my toes because life is too short'.  Hence, the title of the following page.  I am extremely happy with the way it has turned out and think I will start doing alot more day to day photos.  I want my kids to grown up knowing, not just my feelings about them, but my feelings in general.

100_2838

.........and I love this little bird out of the Basic Grey paper range, Urban Prairie.  Oh, and those Thickers, just love those Thickers!!!!

Now, I want to show you another photo of the same page, but you have to pick the difference!

I have finally got my tattoo that I wanted for my 40th.  That was almost 2 years ago now! I am really happy with it and, no, I won't be getting any more.  My husband is ready to divorce me (so he says anyway) but I am sure he will get over it!  Not much he can do about it now anyway.  We had a deal......... I have never known him without a mustache and one day he said he was going to shave it off.  I begged him not to and this went of for months and months.  One day, we had a friend over and we were talking about it and Karen said, "Go on, I dare you to go and shave it off".  I told him that if he did (after all it is his body and his choice), I would get my tattoo once I found the right one.  Off he went and 10 minutes later.................No mustache!!!!!  Karen was mortified and felt really bad (wish I had the camera out to take the look on her face, it was priceless)  I was quite impressed as he looked even more handsome and about 10 years younger.  A deal is a deal, I say.  What do you think?  Here is a closer look.  It was only done three days ago so it looks a little sore (which it is but I wouldn't dare complain) and I apologize for the feral looking toes!

I had better go and think about feeding the natives!

Do you give a Hoot?

It's midnight and I am still wide awake!  I have no idea what is going on with my body clock lately but it is beginning to drive me crazy......................but you don't really give a hoot, do you?

Check out these gorgeous cards that I have made while becoming an insomniac.  I got the inspiration from a couple of blogs that I check out on a regular basis.  They are American blogs and I am so sorry but I can't remember which ones they are.  (I follow about 100 blogs regularly!)  Now, I think the loss of memory is from the lack of sleep as well?!?!

I hope you enjoy these couple of gorgeous cards as much as I enjoyed making them!

And they called it Puppy Love

This page is of a lady we call Roddy and my gorgeous baby Sophie.

Roddy (Mrs Rodden) lived next to us while my siblings and I were growing up.  She has always been part of our family and still is.  Unfortunately now, at the age of 97, she is in a nursing home.  Mind you, she only went in there two years ago.  Up until then she was at home caring for herself and her home.

Roddy was the one that used to go on all the rides with us at the Carnival.  Rides like the Twister and all the other twirly ones.  She absolutely loved them.

Mum was only having a conversation with her the other day about her age and she refused to believe that she was 97.  I love her so much and she is like a grandmother to me.

Roddy and Sophie were enjoying cuddles at the park last march when we went for a picnic.  You know this is particularly why I love scrapbooking, because I can record this outing which to many others would be 'just a picnic'.  To us, it meant being able to spend time with Roddy and we sat for hours talking about things we have all done together in the past.  The funny thing is that Roddy is not a big dog lover.  She always had a cat, but she absolutely loved Sophie and sat with her on her lap for hours.

I couldn't resist scrapping this photo and am really happy with the result.  Hope you like!

You take my breath away...

I had a lovely day yesterday, scrapping with my Mum.  It was nice to have that time together on our own, doing something that we both love.  We talked and laughed all day and the pages seemed to flow freely.  This is one of the pages I completed.  It is of my son Josh.  My darling husband doesn't like the photo because he said he looks sour.  I don't know about that?  I've seen him look alot sourer!!  We were on a boat over the Christmas holidays and the sun was glarey and I caught Josh just as he looked up.  I love the photo personally!  Well here is the page.....I hope you like it!

Busy, Busy, Busy.....

Don't you just wish that sometimes, life would slow down a little?  I just cannot believe how fast the time is flying by at the moment.

Thank you, once again, to those ladies who have helped get together some layouts to send down to Sarah Gladman for the Victorian Bush Fire Victims.  You are amazing!  I know that so many families are going to get so much enjoyment, in time, from these beautiful albums that Sarah has organized.  HUGE round of applause for Sarah, for all her amazing work in co-ordinating this venture.

Very short post today but I just wanted to show you a sneak peak of what I have been working on lately.  Just so you know that I don't sit on my bum eating bon bons and watching the soapies all day.  (Although I think that is what my darling husband thinks I do all day, sometimes...........  I Wish!!!!)

I will show you finished products once they are completed.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping.

Never say Never.......

Where has the time gone?  Oh my goodness!  I said to myself when I started this blog that I will NEVER leave it for more than a week without posting something.  Well................... I will Never say Never again!

Life has just been so hectic as I am sure you are all flat out as well.  I have been getting a few pages and projects done in between working, running kids here and there, housework etc etc.......and the list goes on.

I would like to thank all the lovely ladies that have been helping me out with doing layouts to send down to the Victorian fire victims.  These layouts are being sent to Sarah Gladman who is the amazing lady that organized this huge project.  She is hoping to supply at least one album to each displaced family which at last count was around 1080, I think.  What an amazing gift to get to start rebuilding memories.  Thanks again ladies, you are amazing!  If anyone has any more layouts, can you please drop them around to me by the 15th March or contact me and I can come and collect them from you.  The 15th is the close off date for them to be sent to Sarah for collating.

Well it is only a short post this time but I just wanted to let you all know that I am still in the land of the living but have just been a bit snowed under.

Take care and until next time,

Happy Scrapping,

Sue
